Sunday Worship November 13th, 2022 10:30am
Twenty-third after Pentecost: Vocation Sunday
Online & in-person at EEU Glen Rhodes Campus 1470 Gerrard Str. E

"What do you want to be when you grow up?" That's the topic for this Sunday as we explore the call to ministry from the perspectives of our three students: Fraser, Julian, and Christine.  We are all called as disciples, so how do we take that further leap into becoming a minister? Rev. Dan will lead the service with participation from our students and voluntary associate ministers, as well as the choir.  10:30 online and in person at Glen Rhodes Campus.

Testing and troubleshooting Eastminster / Danforth AV equipment - Thursday, November 17th, 2022 at 7pm online and in-person.

Let’s fix these dreaded technology/sound problems on Sunday mornings!

I imagine that our EEU congregation, especially our loyal online worshippers, were looking forward to the installation and use of our fabulous new AV equipment at our Danforth / Eastminster campus. Since the installation we have experienced our fair share of teething problems, which, while frustrating, is a normal and natural consequence of the installation of any new equipment. I also imagine that you are wondering when we are going to reach a point where it all just works the way it should!

To this end – an opportunity to thoroughly test and troubleshoot is available on Thursday evening, November 17th, when our EEU choir will be practicing at our Danforth / Eastminster campus. This has presented a chance for us to recreate Sunday service conditions with choir, music and speaking.

We need your help with the testing and troubleshooting! Please join us in-person or online using the Sunday Zoom Link, from 7pm on Thursday evening. Our installer and expert, Phil will also be with us to help in a way that is not possible in the middle of a church service on Sunday mornings.

As we enter the month of November, Nourish East End wants to reflect on the generosity and support we have received over the last few weeks.
Our Compassion Partners, The Meeting House East Toronto, organized a Food Drive on October 30th, which was led by their hardworking Youth Group! TMH East Toronto opened their space for community donations that were then collected and organized (in very creative ways we might add!) by their youth group. Thank You TMH for going above and beyond, and collecting some needed food items for our Free Food Market program.

Our neighbours at Earl Haig Public School also participated in a very successful Food Drive last week! Parents, students, and community members were invited to drop-off any shelf-stable items at the school, in support of us here at Nourish East End. Our incredible team went to pick up the donations on Halloween night and were greeted by 29 boxes full of food items! All of the items were then used for our Free-Food Market the following Wednesday. Thank you Earl Haig for all your hardwork; our shopping tables were so full this past Wednesday!
Bible Study Tuesdays at 9am
Bible Study is held at 9am on Tuesday mornings on Zoom.
  • Explore the readings for the following week's worship service.
  • Hear reflections--sometimes deep, sometimes light-hearted--from fellow participants.
  • Meet old friends and make new ones.
  • Questions & doubts welcome.

Come a few minutes early for chat if you can. Our "hour" stretches to about 10:10 most weeks, but the commitment is only till 10 o'clock.  Email Rev. Robin Wardlaw for more information and the Zoom link at robinwardlaw@eastendunited.ca.
The Council Meeting Minutes for September 2022, as approved at the meeting of October 19th, 2022, have been posted on Realm.  They can also be found on the website here:  https://www.eastendunited.ca/council.html
