Note From the Boosters President

WOW! What a start to the end of the marching band and beginning of the concert band season!

We had SO MUCH FOOD at the Bake Sale on Election Day! There were so many wonderful goodies that we ran out of table space. The band kids were invited to take stuff home, and the rest was immediately taken to the Lamb Center and donated - they were happy, too. Many thanks to all who baked/brought stuff! We raised $702.85!

Big thanks to the kids, too! So many came out to play -- more than anyone expected. They played great and sounded like they were having fun, which also made the band parents very happy; hope that was the case. (BIG HUG TO YOU, JAKE!)

One cool event: a lady bought a pack of Jamie's doughnuts around 6:45am and then CAME BACK about 30 minutes later and bought three more! She said, “Tell whoever baked these that they are even better than the ones at Apple House.”

Many thanks to all who baked and especially Amy, Candice, and Debbie who stayed and worked the entire sale! It was so much fun! The band kept us dancing all morning!

I am humbled and honored to take over as President. Thank you, MariAnn, for making the transition an easy one. More to come!

Parents Night Out Fundraiser

Make plans to dine out (or order in) at Capital Ale House, November 15th! We are having a restaurant night fundraiser -- the Band Boosters will receive 20% of everything spent on food (or drinks) that day, by anyone who shares THIS FLYER with their server. You get a nice meal, support a local business, and earn money for the band. (Stop by before or after the orchestra performance!) Win-win-win!

Concert Band Uniform Update

Thank you so much to all the parents who showed up to help with fittings on Wednesday! Any students who were not able to come will be fitted during their band class over the next couple of weeks.

As students are fitted, they will bring home their concert band uniform. Please ask your student if their dress or pants need to be hemmed. They can be hemmed at home or taken to a tailor.

  • Do not alter the jackets.

  • Do not cut fabric off the uniforms.

  • Do not use fusible web (stitch witchery) or other adhesive to alter the uniform.

  • Always use black thread.

If you are unable to hem the uniforms at home or take to a tailor, please reach out to the uniform team at the email below, and we can help!

Any students who need tux shirts are being measured for them. The uniform team will order these and pass them out to students before the next concert. There is a small fee for these - more details to come on payment.

Fundraising Volunteer Opportunities

We have several fundraising opportunities throughout the year and need help managing them. Please consider leading or helping with:

Family Night Out -- coordinate fun family evenings out at local restaurants and businesses. The Boosters receive a percentage of the sales.

Wreaths Across America -- coordinate a Wreaths Across America fundraiser. We raise money to buy wreaths for veterans graves and ⅓ of the money raised goes to the Boosters. It’s a fundraiser and a service project!
