SOC 112a, Social Class and Social Inequality with Professor Karen V. Hansen presents the role of social class in determining life chances, income, occupation, and wealth; theories of class inequality, and how that is shaped by race-ethnicity; and gender. The course also explores efforts to change these structural dynamics through social action and different ways organizations and activists wield economic and political power.
