The UK government announced a billion-pound home insulation scheme to cut heating costs and help reduce energy demand by 15% by 2030. The programme includes grants to improve household energy efficiency, as well as a public information campaign offering energy saving advice.

Retrofitting for energy efficiency has been promoted by many groups in the UK in recent years—from The Great Homes Upgrade to Insulate Britain to the End Fuel Poverty Coalition. It's proof that consistent action on an important subject can have tangible success at the highest level.

Wherever you are, you can stay warm and save money (and the planet). Easy steps are to turn down the temperature of your boiler and reduce heat loss around your home. If you’re in the UK, you can also join the Day of Action on Fuel Poverty this Saturday, December 3rd.

🏢 What can you do at work? If your company is office based, share this guide for saving energy with your facilities department. It includes a section on heating, and covers a wide range of other areas too.
