AFA REVIEW 2022
Before 2022 comes to an end, we are happy to look back at this eventful year with some impressions of events and projects of the Austrian Fashion Association.
We hope you enjoy it and wish you relaxed Christmas days and a Happy New Year 2023!
Here's to a healthy and happy new year with many interesting projects, personal encounters and conversations!
The office of the Austrian Fashion Association is closed from December 23rd, 2022 to January 6th, 2023, after that we can be reached again at the usual times.

SUPPORTED DESIGNERS 2022
The Austrian Fashion Association congratulates all designers and labels who were supported by the AFA support program and the Startstipendien MODE of the BMKÖS in 2022!

These and numerous other labels can also be found in the AFA funding database, an extensive information and research tool that provides an overview of all designers and labels who have received awards and funding from the Austrian Fashion Association, the BMKÖS, the Federal Chancellery, the City of Vienna and Wien Products since 2014.

AUSTRIAN FASHION AWARDS 2022
On Thursday, November 17, 2022, the Austrian Fashion Association, as a partner of the federal government and the City of Vienna, presented the winners of the Austrian Fashion Awards 2022. This year's outstanding artist award for experimental fashion design of the BMKÖS was presented to MÜHLBAUER HATMAKERS SINCE 1903, MATTHIAS WINKLER is the winner of the Fashion Award of the City of Vienna 2022.

On the occasion of the Austrian Fashion Awards 2022, the Austrian Fashion Association in cooperation with the project staygoodbye by photographer Yannick Schuette and stylist Simon Winkelmüller realized the fashion film Platz - da.
We would like to thank everyone involved in the film production and the designers who contributed their fashion pieces!

CRAFTING FASHION FOR POSSIBLE FUTURES
The exhibition Crafting Fashion for Possible Futures at the Austrian Cultural Forum New York was curated by the Austrian Fashion Association and for the first time presented a comprehensive overview of contemporary Austrian fashion design in New York. Based on the works of 14 fashion designers and labels it showed that design has the potential for change and a better future.

HOW TO FASHION
VIDEOS & WORKSHOPS
HOW TO FASHION is a video and workshop series of the Austrian Fashion Association in co-operation with the Vienna Business Agency. This year we talked to Antonia Mädel of Viennese label rudolf and Jojo Gronostay, the man behind Dead White Men´s Clothes.
In the next episode of HOW TO FASHION, architect, designer and 3D expert Julia Körner will give insights into her working world. Release information coming soon!

The multi-part workshop program HOW TO FASHION with international industry experts in the fields of sales, production, and pr is already in the second round. It imparts know-how to young fashion labels, stimulates professionalization processes, expands networks and will be continued next year.

AFA COMMUNITY ONLINE TALKS
This year we were again able to win exciting conversation partners for our AFA Community Online Talks whose topics this year ranged from AI technologies to the social and political dimensions of the fashion industry to its legal aspects.

AFA x DACH SHOWROOM
The AFA x DACH Showrooms in Paris took place again in spring and autumn. The Austrian fashion labels represented were able to wow the international professional visitors and sold their fashion to numerous shops in Europe, the USA and Asia.
