Honoring Dan Batchelor’s Lifetime Impact on OKC

No one has had a more instrumental, behind-the-scenes impact on how Oklahoma City has been shaped over the last 50 years than Dan Batchelor.

In his role with Oklahoma City Urban Renewal Authority (OCURA), Dan Batchelor has helped Oklahoma City develop an efficient economic development engine that concentrates incentives, resources and support into a one-stop-shop and positions Oklahoma City to be a model for being developer-friendly and highly effective at public-private partnerships.

As he retires, we applaud his life’s work and know that his impact and shaping of Oklahoma City’s destiny will be remembered by many and enjoyed by all who call our city home.

The Alliance team attended the State of the Economy luncheon held by the Greater OKC Chamber at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Keynote speaker, Anirban Basu, the chairman & CEO of economic consulting firm Sage Policy Group spoke on trends, economic outlook and impacts on our growth.

The holiday season is in full swing in Oklahoma City with a calendar packed full of festive events, entertainment and more. The 21st annual Downtown in December brings holiday happenings for people of all ages to enjoy through January 29.

Whatever your favorite holiday tradition, you can find it in Oklahoma City and make the season more festive while you support our local merchants, artists and creators.

The area surrounding lower Scissortail Park is zoned for mixed use to welcome a blend of residential, retail, restaurants, commercial and industrial interests. The properties and land surrounding the park to the south and west are currently owned by private developers, homeowners and the Oklahoma City Urban Renewal Authority. With some water and storm sewer infrastructure improvements in the planning now, these now vacant areas adjacent to the park will be ripe for development.
