URBAN WILDLIFE GARDENS NEWSLETTER

November 2022

Dear <<First Name>>,

Welcome to the November 2022 newsletter.

The weather has certainly changed since our last edition. Be mindful of water sources in the garden. Its been a while since water has been a concern, but with the hot days check bird baths and drinking sources haven’t dried up. Any new plantings will need a drink after the hot days.

This month we held a workshop, 'Get Connected'. A post below is a short summary of the night and the resources that were presented.

Our next workshop, 'Find a Frog' in February, will be on Wednesday 1st February. Save the date for this one. An email with details will be sent out in January.

As an urban wildlife gardens member you are invited to join our new Facebook Group. The group's purpose is to share information about the fauna and flora of Noosa Shire and help people create urban gardens that reflect the natural environment.   Your photographs and questions will help create a conversation about Noosa's most valuable asset - its natural environment.  The group has been set up to be visible to other Facebook users, but only members can contribute.

You must apply to join the Facebook Group  Anyone can apply to join the group. Search for Urban Wildlife Gardens Members page and Join. Your application will be approved by the administrators of the site - currently Michelle and Stephanie. We will gradually phase out the existing UWG Facebook page.

As we head into the silly season we hope your garden provides a space for you to sit and take a breather. We would love to see photos of the wildlife that visit while you are resting in the garden. Send to uwg@noosariver.com.au and we will share them in the next newsletter. Or if you would like to see an animal that isn’t presently calling in, let us know and we can advise on how to make your garden more enticing.

Regards,

Michelle Newall
