This Sunday

This Sunday, there will be no in-person church service as we will once again be marching in the Taunton Christmas Parade, and everyone is welcome and encouraged to join us!
We will be lining up on Whittenton St between 10-10:30 am
Limited parking is available at Liberty and Union Plaza (247) on Broadway.
The parade theme this year is Christmas Around the World, and FPC will be representing the North Pole!!!
Everyone, kids, youth, and adults, are encouraged to dress as elves, snowmen, reindeer, candy canes, Christmas trees, or anyone/anything else that might be at the North Pole. As always, we will be handing out candy to the crowd, so if anyone would like to donate some, it would be most appreciated.
We will also have reindeer antlers, elf ears, jingle bells, and other things available for anyone who wants to make a costume on the spot.

How in the world is a fun Christmas film like "Gremlins" considered to be a pop classic for social justice conversations? Well, come and find out in the next Social Justice Film Discussion in the lead minister's office on Friday, Dec. 2nd, at 6 PM.  Kids are welcome to be present for the film as well, and childcare will be provided afterward as needed. Lots of snacks and drinks will be provided, contact Michelle for more info at michelle@revmichellewalsh.com
What is Chalica?

Chalica is a celebration and ritual that was first adopted by the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) and UU churches across the US in 2005. Chalica begins on the first Monday of December  (5th -12th) as folks light their chalices at home each day and pause to recognize/reflect on our shared principles.

During this week, we encourage you to re-aline yourself with our shared values and principles and take action to re-establish them in the world around us. Set aside time to talk about what or journal about the principle of the day and what it means to you, and how it can be lived out in your lives. Physical gifts are not a part of Chalica; however, time is! Time spent with friends and/or family, time spent actively living into our shared faith, time spent reflecting on and celebrating what it means to be a Unitarian Universalist.

Blue Holidays Gathering

Sometimes we feel pressure to feel joyful around the holidays, and this can be a strain when we have had recent losses or are experiencing other challenges.  On Thursday, Dec. 8th, at 6PM, Michelle will facilitate a gathering in the back of the sanctuary for those who may be feeling more blue than joyful during this holiday season. Readings and recorded music and time for sharing, as well as snacks and drinks, will be available.  Contact Michelle for more information at michelle@revmichellewalsh.com.  Michelle also will check on the availability of childcare for those who might need it.

 Holiday Paint and Sip Fundraiser
Join us Friday night, December 9, from 7-9 PM for a super fun Ornament Paint and Sip night. Adults, youth, and kids 10+ will get to follow along with a tutorial and paint 2 wooden ornaments. We will provide all the materials - paint, brushes, and ornaments (however, as always, people are welcome to bring their own materials) as well as snacks, wine, and cider.

We will also have childcare available for kids under 10. Kids attending childcare will have a blast watching a holiday movie and making pipe cleaner & popsicle stick ornaments.
