Obituary:
Darwin Dale Linsey, 94, of La Vernia, TX., longtime resident of Leander, TX, passed away on November 22, 2022, in New Braunfels, TX. Born September 3, 1928, at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX. Parents are Edna J. (Smith) Linsey and James H. Linsey.

His military career started in the Army, moved to Army Air Corp, and finished up in the Air Force. Total of 27 years and 5 months. Traveled the world, sometimes with family and some not.

He was always a cheerful fellow; he could make a friend out of anybody. He loved to work with his hands. He built a canoe in a basement in Great Falls, Montana. I do not know how he got it out of there. City inspector for the city of Leander. Played lots of golf. He found a brotherhood in the Masons, rose through the ranks, becoming a great teacher and leader. He spent his later years restoring antiques. People would bring him a pile of wood and expect him to create a masterpiece. Which he did many many times.

Darwin Linsey is preceded in death by his mother, Edna Linsey and father James Houston, and wife, Wanda Linsey, and brother James Linsey. He is survived by his brothers Cliff and Ellis Linsey and sister Shirley Masterson. Son Winn and Angel Linsey, Daughter Karol and Clayton Kennedy. Four grandchildren, Kimberly Kennedy, Krista Kennedy, Wendy (Linsey) Curlee and Wayne Linsey. And four great-grandchildren Caitlyn Linsey, Rebecca Linsey, Lilly Linsey, and Trisha Kennedy.

But, overall, he was one of a kind.

Funeral Service. Leander United Methodist Church, 107 S West Dr, Leander, TX, 7864

Burial Service. Cook-Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery, 24501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, TX, 78660. Close to the right of the mausoleum. Service will include a Military and Mason service.
