Warm Fall Greetings,
I’ve been contemplating the season of giving thanks. And family. We sometimes fight. And there are many things we don’t agree on. Former spouses are in our mix, my husband’s and my brother’s. But we gather on this holiday, especially, and are thankful for each other. We are family. And that is a special thing to celebrate. I’m thankful my mom is still celebrating with us at 86. Pops has been gone for 5 years now, which makes me melancholy. His death and birthday were only days apart. Then I see singles celebrating Friendsgiving, and that warms my heart again. My students are ‘family’. My artist friends, and dance buddies - yet more family. Choose your people and celebrate the love you have for each other. My daughter in law made a traditional turkey feast with all the trimmings. My side of the family celebrated with enchiladas! If cooking isn’t your thing, why stress? Throw out the 'rules'. If you have toxic friends or family members - distance yourself from their poison. If not physically, then emotionally. Release. Be thankful.

I am having so much fun and am so thankful for the piano brunch job at Sabrosa Cafe. They are hosting my Piano Party / Singalong on Dec 17 from 1-3. Join us! Franks other restaurant, Sisu, has been serving breakfast and now has expanded to a supper club by night - with white linens, affordable steaks, wines, and live music. That would be ME on keys and hubby Tom on the bass! (When he doesn’t have another gig). We’ve been married for almost 20 years and this is the first time we’ve played together, other than a broadway singalong in 2001. Crazy. He’ll agree. Thanks also to a client for referring a relative seeking art for his business. The Essential Hair Studio is located in Bayside, on Port Washington. When the owner, George, called - he mentioned being heavily involved in Gallery Nights in Walker’s Point years ago. My name has changed, his business name and location have changed, so we didn't make a connection immediately. George and his now-ex, Debbie are still business partners. What are the odds that I exhibited at their former salon, Studio 712 and even crazier…George was in the process of organizing photos, and he had pictures of me, and of Tom and our friend Doug who played for the reception almost 20 years ago. Anyhow, there are now 6 Fusion Foto Art prints on metal at his space. I updated my website this week. > www.FusionFotoArt.com

The alternative-tree Christmas decorations are up. I saved thousands by not shopping on Black Friday and kicked Twitter to the curb. I survived another birthday, super low-key this year. I’m ever thankful for all my families and embracing beauty wherever I find it.
