HIGHLIGHTS FROM APTN
TRANS AWARENESS WEEK AND TRANS DAY OF REMEMBRANCE
Transgender Awareness Week, observed November 13 to November 19, is a one-week celebration leading up to the Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR), which memorializes victims of transphobic violence. This year, we have engaged the community to address the question: “What’s the better trans allyship beyond awareness?” and some of the trans activists in this region have spoken up. APTN x ILGA Asia 2022 Trans Pre-conference
We led ILGA Asia’s 2022 Trans Pre-conference on the 28th of November 2022. The Trans Pre-conference was led by Nhuun Yodmuang, our Senior Human Rights and Advocacy Officer and ILGA Asia’s Trans Representative Executive Board. On the trans pre-conference day, we had 3-panel sessions discussing the current state of transgender rights across Asia.  READ MORE→
APTN TRANSPHOBIC HATE CRIME MONITORING WORKSHOP
This workshop is a pilot to conduct a Transphobic Hate Crime and Violence monitoring, and reporting system that is accessible to transgender-led and local organisations. It was held virtually on the 10th & 11th of November and attended by 15 partners and community members (India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines, and Thailand) who have previously engaged with APTN in different regional and national projects.

JOINT STATEMENT: TRANS DAY OF REMEMBRANCE 2022
On 20 November 2022, we pause to mark Trans Day of Remembrance (TDoR) and raise awareness about violence against trans and gender-diverse people. Today we mourn and honour the 327 trans and gender-diverse people who were reported murdered worldwide between 1 October 2021 and 30 September 2022, whose lives might otherwise be forgotten. READ MORE→
REGIONAL NETWORK OF KEY POPULATIONS PROJECT UPDATES
Early this year the consortium of RNKPs was developed into a Regional KP Networks Coordination Mechanism through a consultative process with UNAIDS and key stakeholders to implement joint strategies. The project helped to identify key synergy and opportunities for sustainable collaboration across programs and projects through joint partnerships and engagement. READ MORE→

HRDAP 2023: APPLY NOW FOR ISHR'S HYBRID TRAINING FOR HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDERS!

TDOR vigil by BDS Samabhabona happened on 20th of November 2022, in Triangular Park, Garia Hath, Kolkata. They invited everyone to be a part of the remembrance and to light a candle of hope and gratitude towards the departed soul.

PAKISTAN - TDOR PERFORMANCE AND DISCUSSION BY FDI PAKISTAN
On TDOR, FDI Pakistan conducted a discussion on the Transgender Protection Act of Pakistan and a classical performance. Reem Sharif, a Transgender Rights Activist dilevered a strong performance reflecting resilience against Transgender Violence.

THE PHILIPPINES - TDOR 2022 VIGIL
Kasama nyo kami! Pioneer FTM in the Philippines created a Transgender Day of Remembrance 2022 Vigil located in Liwasang Diokno, Quezon City. Prior to the vigil, PFTM, in partnership with the Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines, conducted a series of online conversations to observe Transgender Awareness Week 2022.
