I just wanted to send well wishes to you and your family, or your chosen family today. 

As we meet with our loved ones, I take today to think about those who cannot. Those lost to the recent tragedy at Club Q, those lost to gun violence, those killed in duty protecting our community, and those lost to accidents and illness. Life is precious, and when we lose people in our lives, we have an empty place at our table and in our hearts. Be sure to keep contact with those who may be struggling today, and every day. We, as human beings, need community. Let's be the community that someone needs today eve if it is just a phone call. 

Today, I give thanks to all of the people in my life who have helped support me: my wife, my parents and my family, my friends, my co-workers and my volunteers. I am also thankful to the activists who stand up for injustice. Thank you for everyone giving their time volunteering and making the world a better place. 

I'm grateful to serve the people of HD27. It's my honor to serve you. I wish you all the best this holiday season.
