We are holding a Welcome Meal on Sunday 22nd January 2023. This is for people who are new to the church in the last 12 months or so to give them an opportunity to meet various people and get to know more about the church. In order to make this happen we need a team of volunteers to help with catering, setting up and serving. If you are able to help
please speak to Xanthi or email her onx100749f@gmail.com.
Chocolate Church
In the new year we are hoping to launch a new after school service called Chocolate Church. It will be a short child friendly service that begins with chocolate snacks in the Welcome Centre followed by a short act of worship in the main church. The plan is to run this on Wednesdays at 3.30pm. Could you be part of this exciting new venture? You could do some baking, be part of the cafe or worship team and pray for the team and those who will come. If you would like to know more please speak to or contact Phil.

This Weeks Prayer Points:
Ukraine: Maia, who lives in Kyiv and is part of one of the churches there, has asked for prayer especially for the elderly in the current situation.
Some of them live in high storey apartment blocks and have to climb many stairs if lifts are out of action due to power cuts. They are also affected when phones are out of order and they can't contact their families. Please continue to pray for all the vulnerable people affected by the cold and lack of food etc. and the constant bombardments. Pray also that the Lord will give wisdom and compassion to all leaders as they consider continuing help for Ukraine. Pray for the church there and in Russia, that they may know what the Lord is saying in this conflict and whether they can act as peacemakers.
China: Pray about the current unrest and dissatisfaction with the government over its Covid policies,. Pray that more people can be vaccinated with effective immunisations. Pray for all who have been imprisoned after protesting. Pray for Christians.
Iran: here too, protests against the hard-line government have continued.
Pray that the Lord's will prevail. The church is growing in the midst of intense persecution. Ask for protection on believers especially at this time.
Pakistan: Pray about the unrest here too, over Imran Khan and the recent election. He has appealed for calm, even though he has a large following which has called for his reinstatement. Pray for the Christians who suffer persecution and how the unrest might affect them.
Afghanistan: Remember all who are suffering extreme hunger under the Taliban's regime. Ask for wisdom for the International community about aid.
Pray for refugees. Many are in Tajikistan. This country is now 1st on the Open Doors world watch list for persecution of Christians.
Syria: Pray for people in the North where Turkey is planning a ground offensive against the Kurds.
Romania: Give thanks for Martin's trip and safe return after a lot of travel. Continue prayer for Sam's health.
B.Y.F.C: Pray for Neil as he goes to the Netherlands next week 5th-7th to meet with the director of Y.F.C. there. Pray for the rest of the family while he's away, especially Maisey. Continue prayer for Joy as she travels to the hospice 3 days each week and continues her studies.
S.Africa/U.K: Give thanks for the Nobbs' visit to us on 4th Dec. Pray for the family as they acclimatise to our winter and travel round the country.
Ask for the Lord's blessing on all their encounters.
India: Continue prayer for Janaki and her team and the school.
Belgium: Pray that the release of Ecriture's Christmas song will bless many at this time, and ask for good health for the Prices.
U.K: Pray for Jo and Paula's health and for their family in Russia who want to leave. Ask for the Lord's will to be done in all decisions that our government is taking, especially those relating to immigration and our health service.
Pray for all workers, including nurses, doctors, rail men and postal workers who feel they need more pay. Pray that help from the government will be available for the most vulnerable in society. Give thanks for some concessions that have already been made.
Local: Pray for all local churches which are offering warm spaces at this time, and for Christmas services, especially the school services in our church with Springwater and Starbeck. Pray for all those in our church and community who are ill or awaiting surgery etc. and those who have been recently bereaved. Pray for more helpers for our Sunday Club and give thanks for Family Spot, Plus, etc. Pray for Phil, Sally and their families and our worship leaders etc. that they may keep well in this busy time
