Rares: elected as Board Member of the YFJ


The European Youth Forum has celebrated its biennial General Assembly this month of November in Tirana, Albania.

Among many important decision, the membership has had the opportunity to elect a new President and a new Board for the upcoming mandate. 

We are happy to announce that our very own Rares, nominated and supported by OBESSU has been elected as Board Member!!

The 17th of November marks the International Students' Day. 

This year OBESSU took the chance to honor all the students who have fought and fight everyday not only for their rights but for greater causes such as human rights, democracy and peaceful societies.

Open Call: OBESSU's Pool of Trainers. 

 
OBESSU is looking for new members for its Pool of Trainers!

The OBESSU Pool of Trainers is a group of trainers, educators and facilitators with insight into the world of OBESSU and school student activisms.

Members of the OBESSU Pool of Trainers are also involved as external experts in events organised by OBESSU Member, Candidate and Affiliate Organisations.

Decolonising school curricula 101:

 
Back in May, OBESSU together with the GSF, organised a week-long Study Session at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg with the support of the Council of Europe.

Over 30 participants between students representatives and activist met to discuss how to decolonise school curricula as a way to build more inclusive, less oppressive societies. Now we are happy to present Decolonising School Curricula 101: A guide to oppression-free societies. 

Projects' news

COYV: Elections and political participation.

 
This November we have been in Lisbon together with our partners from JEF to participate in a training on elections and political participation of young people. 

What did we do?
- We welcomed everyone to the training, presented the OBESSU code of conduct and the results of the research based on the COYV Survey.
- Then we dicussed youth involvement in elections and political campaigns.

The participants used their views and ideas to start developing a toolkit on Youth Vote for the EU elections. If you want to know more about COYV and its future activites, stay tuned!

Erasmus in School: Research Report.

 
International Mobility programmes such as Erasmus+ have been a way to foster European integration and to equip young European citizens with a set of skills and competences.

This research report aims to fill a specific gap in the analyses of the main international institutions, by providing descriptive data relating to the International Mobility of secondary and VET students in Europe.

LLLP's project: LEAD!

The LEAD! project aims to empower students with specific learning disorders aged 9-14 years old, to develop the right competencies, through promoting adaptive technologies and their use.

Students not only learn adaptive ways to read, write, make calculations, but also develop lifelong learning competencies such as learning to learn and being autonomous.

#17November by Global Student Forum

At the cost of their lives, Iranian studentsare at the frontline of the 2022 feminist and revolutionary movement which sparked in Iran after the murder of Mahsa Jina Amini on September 16th.

This is why our global umbrella, GSF has organised  a live event to support the Iranian students, academics and high school students, and to discuss incoming coordinated actions.

OBESSU – The Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions is the platform for cooperation between the national school student unions active in general secondary and secondary vocational education in Europe. It was founded in April 1975 in Dublin, Ireland and brings together Member, Candidate and Affiliate Organisations from 24 European countries. All Member Organisations are independent, national, representative and democratic school student organisations.
