Praise
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Welcome and Announcements
Introit - “Jesus There's No One Like You”
There is no song we could sing to honor the weight of Your glory.
There are no words we could speak to capture the depth of Your beauty.

Jesus, there's no one like You; Jesus, we love You, ever adore You.
There's no one like You; Jesus; we love You, ever adore You (Lord).

There is no sinner beyond the infinite stretch of Your mercy.
How can we thank You enough for how You have loved us completely.
All we have, all we need, all we want is You.

‡The Call to Worship - (From Psalm 92 and Psalm 95)
Pastor: It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High;
Congregation: to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night,

Pastor: to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre.
Congregation: For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
Pastor: O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!

Congregation: Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
Pastor and Congregation: For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

‡The Hymn No. 116 – “For the Beauty of the Earth”
For the beauty of the earth, for the glory of the skies, for the love which from our birth over and around us lies, Lord of all, to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

For the beauty of each hour of the day and of the night, hill and vale, and tree and flow’r, sun and moon and stars of light, Lord of all, to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

For the joy of human love, brother, sister, parent, child, friends on earth and friends above, for all gentle thoughts and mild, Lord of all, to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

For each perfect gift of thine to our race so freely giv’n, graces human and divine, flow’rs of earth and buds of heav’n, Lord of all, to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

‡The Prayer of Invocation

The Old Testament Reading
Psalm 136:1-16; 23-26 --- John Ford
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods, for his steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords, for his steadfast love endures forever; to him who alone does great wonders, for his steadfast love endures forever; to him who by understanding made the heavens, for his steadfast love endures forever; to him who spread out the earth above the waters, for his steadfast love endures forever; to him who made the great lights, for his steadfast love endures forever; the sun to rule over the day, for his steadfast love endures forever; the moon and stars to rule over the night, for his steadfast love endures forever; 10 to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt, for his steadfast love endures forever; 11 and brought Israel out from among them, for his steadfast love endures forever; 12 with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, for his steadfast love endures forever; 13 to him who divided the Red Sea in two, for his steadfast love endures forever; 14 and made Israel pass through the midst of it, for his steadfast love endures forever; 15 but overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red Sea, for his steadfast love endures forever; 16 to him who led his people through the wilderness, for his steadfast love endures forever. 23 It is he who remembered us in our low estate, for his steadfast love endures forever; 24 and rescued us from our foes, for his steadfast love endures forever; 25 he who gives food to all flesh, for his steadfast love endures forever. 26 Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever.

‡The Hymn No. 32 – “Great is Thy Faithfulness”
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; there is no
Shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not, Thy compassions,
They fail not; as Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

Refrain
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see:
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord Unto me!

Summer and winter and spring-time and harvest, sun, moon, and
Stars in their courses above, join with all nature in
Manifold witness to Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love. (Refrain)

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth, Thine own dear
Presence to cheer and to guide, strength for today and bright
Hope for tomorrow, blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! (Refrain)

The New Testament Reading and Prayer of Thanksgiving:
Ephesians 5:1-4; 15-21; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 --- Gene Stansel
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. 15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,  19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Confession of Faith (Heidelberg Catechism #1)
Pastor:  What is your only comfort in life and death?

Congregation:  That I, with body and soul, both in life and death, am not my own, but belong unto my faithful Savior Jesus Christ; whowith His precious blood has fully satisfied for all my sins, and delivered me from all the power of the devil; and so preserves me thatwithout the will of my heavenly Father not a hair can fall from my head; yea, that all things must be subservient to my salvation, wherefore by His Holy Spirit He also assures me of eternal life, and makes me heartily willing and ready, henceforth, to live unto Him.

Offertory Prayer

‡The Hymn – “How Deep the Father’s Love For Us”
How deep the Father’s love for us, how vast beyond all measure,
That He should give His only Son to make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss.  The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One bring many sons to glory.

Behold the Man upon the cross, my sin upon His shoulders.
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life. I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything: No gifts, no pow’r, no wisdom.
But I will boast in Jesus Christ: His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?  I cannot give an answer.
But this I know with all my heart: His wounds have paid my ransom.

Why should I gain from His reward?  I cannot give an answer.
But this I know with all my heart: His wounds have paid my ransom.

Reading of the Holy Scripture: Psalm 65
Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion, and to you shall vows be performed. O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come. When iniquities prevail against me, you atone for our transgressions. Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple! By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness, O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas; the one who by his strength established the mountains, being girded with might; who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples, so that those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs. You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy. You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it. 10 You water its furrows abundantly, settling its ridges, softening it with showers, and blessing its growth. 11 You crown the year with your bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with abundance. 12 The pastures of the wilderness overflow, the hills gird themselves with joy, 13 the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy.

The Sermon – “A Thankful People” - Rev. Richard Owens

‡The Hymn – “10,000 Reasons”
Chorus
Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul;
Worship His holy name.
Sing like never before, O my soul;
I’ll worship Your holy name.

The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning,
It’s time to sing Your song again.
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me,
Let me be singing when the evening comes. (Chorus)

You’re rich in love and You’re slow to anger.
Your name is great and Your heart is kind.
For all Your goodness, I will keep on singing;
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find. (Chorus)

And on that day, when my strength is failing,
The end draws near, and my time has come;
Still, my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years, and then forevermore.  (Chorus)
