News Summary

  • Let's not call it Black Friday. Let's call it stay in the area and support local vendors. So many sales happening and stores open. Its a beautiful day to stroll around Point Reyes Station, Bolinas or Inverness Park to find some unique gifts.
  • Want to know who's land you're on? Check out this map from Infinite City that show the 'names before the names' around the Bay Area and Marin.
  • Art lovers from around the Bay Area are invited to tour artists' studios in the Point Reyes area this Thanksgiving Weekend. More than 20 local artists open their studios to the public 11am to 5pm, Friday - Sunday. The 2022 map is here.
  • Local homeowners and short-term rental operators have lots of strong feelings about moratoriums on vacation rentals. More then 70% of the unincorporated county's short-term rentals are in West Marin. (PRLight w/paywall)
  • To the lucky few who grew up visiting (Andrew Castle's) nets, the structures represented a piece of West Marin that could not be infiltrated by outsiders: Often hidden in the woods and suspended more than 100 feet in the air, the nets were difficult to access for those who didn’t “know someone.”
  • Local legends, El Radio Fantastique, play the Old Western Saloon in Point Reyes Station tonight (Friday) at 9pm.
