ABT Synod - For Those Who Mourn

The following notification is being sent from the Synod office on behalf of Bishop Larry. Together, as a Synod family, we are called to uphold in prayer family and friends who mourn the death of loved ones.
I invite your prayers for the family and friends of Rev. David Taeger, who died suddenly in Camrose on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
Funeral details will be shared as they become available.
Perhaps the following might guide our prayer:
Almighty God, we give you heartfelt thanks for the grace you have granted to David and to all who have finished their course in faith and who now rest from their labours. Raise us with them from death to life, that when we die we may rest in our Redeemer, receive the inheritance prepared for us from the beginning of the world, and find perfect fulfillment and joy in your everlasting glory; through Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord. O God, who brought us to birth, and in whose arms we die, comfort us in our grief and shock at the death of David. Surround us with your love; give us hope in our confusion and grace to release David into the embrace of your mercy; through Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord. Amen. Compassionate God, give courage and faith to all who mourn, that they may have strength to meet the days ahead with steadfastness and patience; not as those who are without hope, but in thankful remembrance of your great goodness, and in the joyful expectation of eternal life in your presence, with those they love; through Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord.
