This season I found myself deep diving into heavily textured glazes and colliding forms. In addition to functional and sculptural pieces, there is an idea I've been working on over this past year.
The Luminous Dark
is a collection of pieces intended for observation and contemplation. I've always loved natural light and prefer candles to lightbulbs. I often work in only available light to observe the transition from day to night. These pieces were created with glazes unsuitable for food but perfect for illumination.
