Speak out against the proposed Eversource-Longmeadow Pipeline!

Eversource Gas has filed with the Energy Facilities Siting Board (EFSB) for approval to build its proposed “Western Massachusetts Gas Reliability Project”.

Eversource wants to build  a new meter station in Longmeadow, a new 16” 200 psi pipeline beneath the streets of Longmeadow into Springfield and an upgraded meter station going through Environmental Justice communities and downtown Springfield.

The EFSB plans to hold only one public comment hearing.
This hearing is NOT being held in Springfield or Longmeadow where the people most directly impacted live, work and attend school,
is scheduled in the midst of the holiday season,
and is one of the final acts of the Baker administration.

Survey for AG's Office on Environmental Justice and Energy Equity

The MA Attorney General’s Office is looking at whether the Dept. of Public Utilities & Environmental Facilities Siting Board processes are accessible to everyone. They are inviting feedback about participation in government proceedings that affect our daily lives like energy utility rates and siting for energy infrastructure projects. Their stated goal is to promote environmental justice and energy equity.  Climate Action Now encourages people across the state to fill out this 10 minute survey.

Go here for the survey in English and Spanish.

We live at a time characterized by numerous dire threats to justice, peace, and the very stability of our country. Among these threats are rampant militarism, galloping climate change, growing inequality, an ongoing and divisive pandemic, and the emergence of a dangerous right-wing extremist movement. The goal of this Conference is to explore with activists and thought leaders how to address these enormous obstacles to the fulfillment of a progressive vision.
