Dear TheatreCHS Family & Friends,
During the 24 hours of Tuesday, November 29th, people will come together to participate in a global day of giving - Giving Tuesday - and we hope you will support TheatreCHS! Did you know that during the 2022-23 Academic Year, TheatreCHS will stage a total of 7 shows, in addition to cabarets and other events? The cost of these shows vary, but one thing is certain: we rely on the generosity of our supporters to bridge the gap between the Theater Department’s budget and the actual cost of putting on these productions! Donations fund everything from royalty fees to costumes, set builds to tech week meals, as well as scholarships for students to attend conferences and trips. Your support is critical to ensuring that the theater and performance arts are accessible to all CHS students who want to participate, regardless of their financial situation.
Already, this year TheatreCHS has accomplished so much, taking our one act The Book of Will to the VTA Conference, where our students won awards for costume and design. TheatreCHS also won first place in the VHSL Jefferson District Theatre Competition for a student-written and directed one act No Home but Ropes and Stakes. With your financial support, our students were able to attend these conferences, many also able to participate in college auditions and showcases with your support.
As we look forward to the rest of the year, we hope you will offer your continued support for the amazing lineup of shows that will offer opportunities and outlet for hundreds of students, actors, designers and crew members. The remaining season includes The Prom – January 20-22, Fiddler on the Roof – February 16-19, The Play that Goes Wrong – April 27-29, Dessert Theatre – May 19-20, Little Shop of Horrors – June 7-9. We also will be taking students to a New York City trip. For all of this, we need your support!
Thanks to all who have already supported TheatreCHS this year - through volunteering, joining set builds, providing meals and snacks, purchasing Playbill ads and donating!
