Explore magnificent caves decorated with mineral deposits
Kartchner Caverns consist of a series of magnificent caves decorated with speleothems - beautifully formed deposits of travertine shaped by water that drips, flows and pools underground.
Discovered on private land by two explorers in 1974, the caverns were opened for public access in 1988 after the property was transferred to the Arizona State Parks.
