Hallelujah Handel / The Wonder of Christmas – This week on Classics 4 Kids, hear two holiday stories. The first is about composer George Frideric Handel and his masterpiece, Messiah. Then hear a tale created by Air Force CMSGT Floyd E. Werle that tells the entire story of Christmas! 
Opera at Noon - Saturday
WFMT Opera Series Season Finale – China's National Centre for the Performing Arts presents Gaetano Donizetti’s L’Elisir D’Amore. Serena Gamberoni stars in the role of Adina alongside Francesco Meli as Nemorino, Liu Songhu as Belcore, Enzo Capuano as Dr. Dulcamara, and Ma Min as Ganeta. Pier Giorgio Morandi conducts.
Tango with Cally

This week: The Canaro Quintets
Violinist Francisco Canaro led his own big tango orchestra, but he also played the tango equivalent of chamber music! He founded and led Quinteto Don Pancho and Quinteto Pirincho. Host Cally Banham shares tangos and milongas from both quintets on this episode.

Join host Tom Sudholt for a live St. Louis Symphony Orchestra broadcast! Conductor Laurence Cummings makes his SLSO debut leading Handel’s treasured Messiah with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus – last performed in December 2018.

Join Leonard Slatkin, Conductor Laureate of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, as he shares anecdotes about the eclectic collection of music in his playlist in this program, which is supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

This week: We Write Letters – It's an episode to write home about! December 7th is National Letter Writing Day, so Julie features pieces that were described in letters by their composers, Broadway songs about writing letters from musicals like She Loves Me and Hamilton, and film music from Atonement and 84 Charing Cross Road.
