Hispanic enrollment at postsecondary institutions in the United States increased exponentially over the last few decades, reaching a new high of 3.8 million in 2019. However, the COVID-19 pandemic brought a decline in postsecondary enrollment among Hispanics and most other racial and ethnic groups.

- Humanities Heart to Heart is a series of essays and multimedia presentations created by Nevadans that highlight diverse, personal perspectives from all corners of the Silver State, reflecting on life during the COVID-19 pandemic. Join them as they share, watch, and listen to each other's stories. The format of these pieces is flexible, as they've received anything from photographic essays to flash fiction to poetry and artwork, and more.
- These Zoom sessions will be presented entirely in Spanish and are perfect opportunities for any monolingual Spanish-speaking Nevadans who are hoping to learn about dementia and how to support the well-being of community members living with dementia. Presented every third Wednesday of each month at 12:00pm
Research Opportunity for Engineering Students
- The student researcher will work with a graduate student. S/he is expected to learn the scientific concepts and research objectives, set up the test specimens, run the experiments, and collect and process the data with supervision. Junior/Senior standing, 4-5 weeks about 10hr/week but schedule is flexible and $15/hr. Please contact Dr. Hamed Ebrahimian (hebrahimian@unr.edu) for further information.
- Calling all DACA eligible people! An annual survey of DACA recipients in 2021 made it clear that DACA is crucial for communities across the U.S. That’s why @UNITEDWEDREAM is back with their annual survey to give DACA eligible people the space to share the impact DACA has had on their lives. Please take a few minutes to fill out the survey (linked below).Especially now that a decision on DACA from anti-immigrant judges at the Fifth Circuit court can come out at any moment.
- Applications are currently being accepted for the Summer 2023 term of two undergraduate internship programs offered by the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science: the Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) program and the Community College Internships (CCI) program. The application deadline is January 10, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. EST. SULI and CCI are managed by WDTS in the DOE Office of Science.
- In our partnership with GNCU and their goals to help everyone Live Greater, we are launching this survey to learn more about your financial wellness needs. Based on community feedback, our plan will be to identify resources, workshops, and other opportunities to provide support in the areas identified.
