One Portal, Many Connections

"
Although I wasn’t fully sure what to expect or how best to organize these conversations, I knew that I was excited to be working on a project that embodies the things that I most enjoy about being an IS major in a very creative and ‘engaging’ way. In my eyes, there is almost nothing more fulfilling than having a genuine, energized, and interesting conversation with someone where you both come away feeling like a connection has been forged, however small the bond is.

Global Engagement Portal
The Global Engagement Portal is an immersive video connection that joins two small rooms across the world to provide a sense of spatial continuity, allowing participants to engage with one another naturally, at real-life size, making eye contact. BC's portal is housed in a  shipping container at the edge of O'Neil Plaza/top of Million Dollar stairs.

ISP Design Competition Winner
Congratulations to Ellie Badger '25 for her winning entry in this year's design competition! Her intriguing and creative design will be reproduced on stickers and other merchandise over the course of the year; proceeds will help to defray the cost of the Senior Send Off event in April. You can purchase a vinyl sticker now using this google form, just in time for the holidays.
Her inspiration behind the design: “The logo represents how the world becomes one with those who study it. As we learn more about the world, we slowly gnaw at it until it is part of us. It can also be seen through the lens of human consumption and environmental degradation. I really made it as a way to represent the program that, while weighty and informative, can also be silly and fun.”
