In addition to our regular preschool and craft programs, we have two special events in December. We will be showing Dr. Seuss' The Grinch (2018), movie on Monday, December 5 in the Auditorium, starting at 4:30 pm.
Then, on Friday, December 30, we will be ringing in the New Year at noon for children and their families. The actual program starts at 11 am in the Crystal Room and we will have special music by Mr. Jim.

All December join the the tween and children's department for a variety of winter programs all about gift giving and community service! We'll be making gifts for friends and family, learning how to wrap presents, reading stories to one another, making cards, and more!

Join us for a special Teen Winter Party! There will be Bingo, a Hot Chocolate Bar, and an epic Snowman Marshmallow contest. In December, there’s also a Zombie Apocalypse Escape Room. Teens will have 45 minutes to save the world. They will need to work as a team and decipher the clues! Are you looking for more teen events? Prose & Verse Book Club
We read, we talk, we laugh!
Haven’t joined a book club yet? Join us for a our evening book club Prose & Verse, which meets on the 4th Thursday of every month from 5:30-6:45 PM in the Glassford Hill Room. December's meeting has been adjusted to accomodate the holidays and will meet on Thursday, December 1, 2022.

PVPL is a partner with the Arizona Talking Book Library. Here are the services they offer:
- For Arizona residents. Their eligibility requirements, for services, needs to have a competent authority (a PVPL librarian) certify one of the following conditions:
- Blind persons whose visual acuity is 20/200 or less in the better eye with correcting lenses, or whose widest diameter of visual field subtends an angular distance no greater than 20 degrees.
-
- Persons whose visual disability, with correction and regardless of optical measurement is preventing the reading of standard printed material.
- Persons unable to read or unable to use standard printed material as a result of physical limitations (for example: cannot hold a book, turn pages, or move the eyes to read).
- Persons having a perceptual or reading disability and unable to read printed works to substantially the same degree as a person without an impairment or disability.
- This includes individuals who have had a qualifying disability from birth, individuals who are disabled because of medical conditions or trauma, and individuals who become disabled as they age.
- Individuals who are blind or have a physical disability and who have been honorably discharged from the armed forces of the United States receive special priority.

Free Artist Talk- Arts & Culture Presents Free Artist Talk on Saturday December 10, 1-3pm at the PVPL auditorium. Free to attend. Two artists featured: abstract metal artist Gene Galazan and Bronze Sculptor Tom White. Both artists will share about their current projects and their experiences as an artist in our community.
