Tribute to Boo, the Dog

Over the last 13 years, if you have been to Timber Ridge Camp, you have probably run into a friendly white dog by the name of Boo. We are sad to say that at the venerable age of 15, after a short illness, Boo passed to her rest Saturday, November 26.

Boo had a way about her that brought healing and joy to all she met. She spent her summers at TRC, visiting as many campers and staff as she could. If you were down, Boo sought you out. If you gave her a treat, you had a friend for life. Many nights Boo would sleep over at staff quarters as well as campers' cabins. Even at her home in Arcadia with Pastor Charlie and Trish Thompson, the mail carrier would stop, say hi, and give her a treat.

Boo will be missed by Charlie, Trish, her family, and most of all, anyone who met her. Today the world is a darker place without Boo. It's another reason to look forward to heaven where our Creator will make all things new and wipe the tears from our eyes.

NEIGHBORS IN NEED

The Lord continues to bless and grow this ministry as we serve one of the most vulnerable populations in our community.

Every Sabbath afternoon, our teams deliver 300 hot meals and 60 sack lunches to folks throughout Anderson who are in the throes of food insecurities. These folks have become our dear friends. Please remember them in prayer, especially during this Christmas season.

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

The Promise of the Holy Spirit

On the last day, that great day of the feast,

Jesus stood and cried out, saying,

"If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.

He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said,

out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."

Father,

You have done so much for me.

But I want to quench my spiritual thirst,

drinking the living water that only you can provide.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

and I believe in you, Lord.

Please, as you cleanse my heart,

help me to see you more fully in my life.

Thank you.

Amen.
