A Day of Giving | Where will your funds go if you choose to support us?
Tomorrow we are celebrating South Dakota's Day of Giving with South Dakota Gives and the national #GivingTuesday holiday!
If you'd like to support our 8-week Healing Arts Program in 2023, all donations that we receive in honor of the Day of Giving will go directly to support the instructors, class assistants and kids participating in our programs so we are able to offer the experience at no cost to the underserved youth that we are reaching.
Here's the facts:
Our 8-week Healing Arts Program is valued at $3,900 or 1 class is $16.25.
We serve up to 15 kids per program that would not otherwise have access due to barriers such as financial and/or transportation.
We meet twice a week for an hour for 8-weeks and cover yoga, dance and performing arts.
There are 4 afterschool programs that we are partnering with in Spring 2023. They are VOA-Dakotas, Sioux Falls YMCA and Boys & Girls Club of the Sioux Empire.
We have a trauma sensitive approach that focuses on a shared authentic experience through invitational language, choice making, shared power and interoception.
We are partially grant funded by the South Dakota Department of Health to formalize, pilot and evaluate the first 4 programs.
The rest of the funding for the first 4 programs is coming from additional grants, corporate sponsors and individual donors!
An Invitation to the Nutcracker | We hope to see you there!
You're invited to the Nutcracker on Tuesday, December 13 at 5:30pm at Terry Redlin Elementary School Gymnasium, performed by the Move To Heal SD Dance Collective and youth from after-school programs at Terry Redlin Elementary School.
This is a free performance that is open to the public to attend so invite a friend to come along with you!
Let's share space to celebrate the holiday season with a 30-minute rendition of the Nutcracker, choreographed and directed by Lisa Conlin.
Free-will donations will be accepted to support Move To Heal SD programs.
