Prayer Gathering Tonight
Join us this evening at 7 pm as we open John 1 and look into God making Himself visible in Jesus. We will pray together and seek God's face and watch for his hands to move. We will also sing several Christmas carols. We hope to see you tonight in the sanctuary.
PIE AND PRAISE!
What a wonderful evening of fellowship, sharing, praise, and pie!  THANK YOU for all who came and served and helped make this a wonderful new tradition!
CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE
Let's worship together at 5 PM on Saturday, December 24th. We will also worship together at 10 AM on Christmas morning.
PRAYER MINISTERS!
Starting this Sunday, December 4th, we will have Prayer Ministers available to pray for people following the worship service. We hope you will feel welcomed by our Prayer Ministers when needs arise that bring you forward for prayer. May God's presence warm this sacred space of ministry each week.
ADVENT IMPEL
Advent Impel for Home Groups!  For those home groups that dive more deeply into our Sunday Advent sermons, here are a few questions that will hopefully stir heart movement this season. We hope this will help you listen to God's Spirit as you engage His Word together. For more ideas or help on Home Group discussions, contact Pastor Kathy.
ADVENT FOR CHILDREN
For this advent season, our children (1st-6th grade) will be invited up front for a special dramatic message. Early childhood children are also invited, but parents have the option of dropping them off or bringing them into the sanctuary with them. Parents of 2 and 3 year olds may want to accompany their child up front, if their child chooses to join on stage.  All the children will engage with our story tellers and return to their seats to complete the given special request of filling in the blank and drawing out the statement they finished. Children 2 years - kindergarten may be escorted by their parents to their respective rooms at anytime during the worship service. The completed statements and drawings will be collected and assimilated into a Children's Book, entitled Making God Visible, that will be read on Christmas Morning.
YOUNGER ADULTS CHRISTMAS PARTY!
Younger adults, join us on Saturday, December 10th, 6 PM for a fun Christmas gathering.  Dinner will be provided (feel free to bring a side or treat).  Bring a white elephant gift (wrapped, non-serious gift under $10) with the theme "Surviving 2023" for a gift swap game.  Last minute comers are welcome, but RSVPs before December 6 are appreciated to help us plan food: respond to the message in the YAM Telegram chat or let Pastor Kathy know that you'd like to join.  This party is open to all, but is geared for those adults beyond college-age, who are newer to navigating careers, grad schools, and relationships, and who are interested in establishing community, and bridging generations. We would love to have you join us as we strengthen this community. See flyer for more information!
DEACON SURVEY
What are some of your favorite ways to help others? Do you like to drive? Do you like to cook? Maybe you like to help with cleaning or gardening! We need to know! We are assembling a list that will guide us in connecting helpers with those that are in need of help. Our Deacons work really hard in caring for our community and this guide will make us all even more effective in loving and caring for one another. Please take five minutes to fill out the survey here.

Let's lift up Wes & Cori Nevius serving the West African Diaspora in Columbus, Ohio with the C&MA Ohio Valley District

Wes and Cori Nevius, after decades of serving in Africa, have transitioned to a special assignment with the C&MA Ohio Valley District developing Diaspora Networks, while continuing to assist with several ministries in Senegal. The OVD is one of the largest US concentrations of Senegalese and Mauritanian Diaspora.

In this area they partner with key Christian leaders in church-planting movements of Muslim-background Believers. They serve, encourage, and unify local leaders to initiate and sustain these church planting efforts. The Nevius’ often meet with educational leaders and discuss possible collaborations with them. They are also committed to The Breath of Life Safehouse and Training Place for marginalized women exiting prison.

Please praise God and pray for the following with Wes and Cori They write:
  1. We are thankful that all the Wes Nevius family is currently together for the Thanksgiving holiday, including our two adorable grandsons.
  2. We are grateful to Wellspring, for their ministries of intercession and giving and remembrance that include us, so faithfully.
  3. We are grateful to the Lord and to those who prayed for Cori.  The severe infection that required multiple antibiotics appears to be under control.  Praise God.
  4. We are grateful for the intercession of God’s people as we seek to actively visit and reach out to folks who are coming from the Sahel region where we worked, settling in Columbus. One Fulani business owner disclosed that they are over 1,000 families here.
  5. One of our friends from Mauritania recently invited us to their home.  Please pray for H a business owner, and his wife F who recently suddenly unexpectedly lost her sister to breast cancer.  F has begun a non-profit that has been launched in Mauritania to facilitate early detection and  provide practical material helps for those who suffer in this way.  They wondered if we’d be willing to help translate their documentation from French into English so that they might submit the process for a U.S. non-profit in the USA.  Both H and F gladly accepted a Gospel of John in Arabic.
  6. Pray the Lord would establish a strong testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and draw many to study Gods Word.
  7. Please pray that the Lord grants us help and wisdom as we have been asked to help five Christian men from Angola, Rwanda, and Congo, called of God, who are working towards accreditation and ordination with the Alliance in the Ohio Valley District .  All processes, mentoring and training are being undertaken in French.  We appreciate prayer for this
  8. Finally, pray that the French Bible study that has begun for an extended Congolese family network will produce fruit in their lives and in the lives of others.

Creating Life
 1 John 1:1-4
 Pastor Mitch Kim

During Advent, we celebrate how God is made visible in Jesus. Without Jesus, we cannot see God; our finite minds cannot comprehend His infinite glory. In Jesus, the limitless glory of God can be seen in the limitations of a vulnerable baby in a manger. This Advent season we will explore John 1 to see how Jesus makes visible different aspects of the glory of God. In John 1:1–4, we see in Jesus how the Word creates life
