The Cedar City Arts Council has two programs which may be helpful to artists, musicians, and organizations:

ARTIST MINI-GRANTS

The artist mini-grants provide funding for up to $500 to individuals and organizations that have small budgets but big plans.  A 501(c)3 designation is NOT a requirement, but an application is required to summarize how you intend to use the funds and how you plan to share your art with the community.  CLICK for more information about the grant.

Grants requests are due January 15th for our current funding cycle.  The CCAC has two funding cycles per year, but artists may receive a grant only once per year.  Applications may be found HERE.

MARKETING CO-OP PROGRAM

The CCAC sponsors a weekly 1/2 page full color ad in the "Where It's @" section of the Spectrum/Daily News for the members of the arts council.  Members participate by submitting their high resolution image, 75 words of text, for 1/3rd of the ad space.

This ½ page color ad allows small arts organizations to spread their marketing dollar further. For the cost of one ad in the paper you could buy into this program and get three weekly ads for the same price.

For more information about the Marketing Co-op, click HERE or contact Marlo by e-mail.

SUU MUSIC STUDENTS APPEAR ON GRAMMY AWARD-NOMINATED RECORDING

When this year’s Grammy Award nominations were recently announced, two of SUU’s talented vocal students had reason to be excited – they performed on a nominated recording. Taliah Lee Johnson and Geneil Perkins received word that their work on the recording Brahms: Ein Deutsches Requiem was nominated for Best Choral Performance in the Classical Music division.

Last summer, Perkins and Johnson were awarded scholarships for their work as part of the first-annual Professional Choral Institute at the University of South Florida. The two weeks spent with other college singers from across the country and finished with a professional recording of the Brahms’ Requiem with Seraphic Fire an internationally acclaimed choir based out of Miami, Florida. The recording was a huge success on the iTunes classical charts when it was released last August. Then came word of the Grammy Award nomination.  Congratulations to Geneil and Taliah!
