SNAP has been steadily working to
reduce the number of animals entering our local shelters since 2003. We are accomplishing this by offering
discounted spay and neuter fees for dogs, cats, and rabbits, and
waive fees altogether for extreme financial hardships.
None of this would be possible however without the support of our donors.
For
Giving Tuesday 2022, we are doubling our goal to $7,000 to hold free clinics in Southcrest and Otay Mesa, two communities struggling with chronic pet overpopulation due to economic disparities and lack of affordable pet healthcare resources. By meeting our goal, we can sterilize 80 pets to
prevent scores of unwanted litters from coming into existence, which is
the best way to reduce intake in our overcrowded shelters.
