PES Women Violence Against Women campaign gains massive support
On International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (25 November), PES Women reiterated its commitment to fight all forms of violence against women. PES Women calls for strong legal frameworks, adequate funding and changing of mindsets to make Europe a zero-tolerance zone for gender-based violence. Read our full press release here.

PES Women Executive: To protect women’s rights we must defend human rights defenders
The recently elected PES Women Executive team met online on 9 December, International Human Rights Defenders Day, and sent a clear statement: women’s rights are human rights and their defenders are essential for democracies everywhere. This was a key message ahead of International Human Rights Day on 10 December.

PES Women December Activities

PES Women President Zita Gurmai participated in the PES Presidency meeting on 15 December in Brussels setting out the PES priorities for 2023, and adopting three declarations on anti-corruption, on women and human rights violations in Iran, and on platform workers. Read the full press release here

Furthermore, PES Women President Zita Gurmai spoke at the thematic session of the Main Board of the Alliance of Women of Montenegro, as part of the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence.
