Hi <<First Name>>,

Thank you for standing up in support of independent, nonprofit journalism about criminal justice.

It's Giving Tuesday! Donations received today are incredibly important. Support from readers like you significantly impacts how ambitious we can be in pursuing stories, expanding our team and deepening our coverage. Our goal is to reach 200 new donations.

Each year on this day, we are astounded and humbled by the generosity of our members. Since you're a member of The Marshall Project, we know you’re passionate about our work.

Here are five ways you can help us reach our goals:

  1. Share our donate link on your social networks. Be sure to mention all gifts will be MATCHED and that every donation helps sustain journalism that is driving real change.

  2. Share one of our stories. Our new Cleveland newsroom recently published an investigation into a wealthy suburb where the majority of drivers cited for traffic violations since 2020 were Black. We also recently published a data analysis showing that arrests of people over 65 grew by nearly 30% between 2000 and 2020 — a trend that's particularly dangerous for people suffering from brain diseases like dementia when they are confronted by officers without adequate de-escalation experience. Both stories are great examples of Marshall Project journalism that shines a light on issues that might otherwise go overlooked or remain hidden.

  3. Tweet about us by sharing why you became a member of The Marshall Project. Be sure to tag @MarshallProj in your tweets so we can retweet you!

  4. Tell a friend to sign up for one of our newsletters. The System is an excellent starting point for anyone searching for a way to learn more about how the criminal justice system really works in America from a trustworthy source.

  5. If you’re able to make an additional donation, now is a great time to do so! Your new gift will still be matched and your passionate support can inspire others to join.

With your help, we know we can reach our goals. Thank you for donating. Your support means so much to all of us at The Marshall Project.

With thanks,

Maurice
