Here's how you can support the next generation of journalists from the borderland

We’re reaching out to you today as part of #GivingNewsDay, a national fundraising campaign for nonprofit journalism.

At Borderzine, we cover the often untold stories of our border community as we train and support the development of the next generation of talented multilingual, multicultural journalists. But now, as many newsrooms are cutting back on internship and job opportunities for students to further develop their skills, Borderzine is needed more than ever. The challenges facing the news industry make our work even more vital to help fill the training gaps for young journalists as we continue to tell the stories of our region.

As news deserts continue to expand, many communities around the country are left without critical access to information. Information that’s backed by sources, facts and research. You can count on us to deliver accurate reporting that helps bring our community together and gives our students quality experience and skills that they will bring to their professional careers.

We hope to raise $2,000 and attain at least 10 new donors by the end of the day today. As part of the national NewsMatch campaign, every dollar donated will be doubled! If you value the work we're doing in this challenging time for the future of quality journalism, will you donate today, in honor of #GivingNewsDay?

Yes! I support Borderzine and the important work you’re doing!

This #GivingNewsDay, invest in unbiased and independent journalism that matters. Join us in fighting fear with facts.

With gratitude,

Borderzine
