Greetings in the name of the God of opportunities!!

TODAY IS GIVING TUESDAY

The real blessing for us is that so many who receive this prayer letter are, in one way or another, regularly giving to the work here at Fair Shake Village. So, on this Giving Tuesday, we GIVE thanks to God for you! Here are a few things that are started or starting soon at FSV.

OPPORTUNITY ONE: MISSING SCHOOL

One challenge we have noted is the number of teens who have aged out of their grade level. Recognizing the need in the community, Carolyn started a late morning group for several girls who are 15 or 16. Their highest level of school was second grade, and only one had accomplished that!! This is just beginning so where it will lead, we will see.

Learning to learn, these girls enjoy their time with Carolyn as she tries to move them up several grade levels beyond their first-grade education. A little tough when you’re 16.

OPPORTUNITY TWO: COMMUNITY HEALTH EVANGELISM

Starting next week, the two nurses in the clinic will take turns going out in neighboring communities to do health talks using a Community Health Evangelism (CHE) model. This is another ministry that helps people to know that the Gospel effects all areas of our lives – that Christianity is not a Sunday only something. Connecting biblical truth and health issues in this teaching has really been a blessed demonstration of God’s heart in so many parts of the world. Please remember Yvonne and Ruth in prayer as they begin this ministry.

FAIR SHAKE VILLAGE SCHOOL

The school has finished the first grading period. Enrollment has reached 75. The ABC class (3 years old) is still the largest with 36 students!! We are grateful for this start and the positive reputation the school is growing in the community.

Going to school - safely????? This was after he dropped a student off at our school!!! On to the next school!

SENSING A PROMPTING TO GIVE THIS GIVING TUESDAY?
