The National Science Foundation granted $2.8 million to US Ignite and Northeastern University to continue to lead the Platforms for Advanced Wireless Research (PAWR) Program, which drives foundational research in areas such as open radio access networks (Open RAN), spectrum sharing, and drone-based wireless systems. New Investments in PAWR Program Strengthen US Commitment to Wireless Research in 5G, 6G, and Beyond
The Platform of Advanced Wireless Research (PAWR) Project Office announced $2.8 million in new funding from the National Science Foundation. Said NSF Assistant Director Margaret Martonosi: “PAWR helps America by facilitating the expansion of researchers who can now contribute to wireless innovation, and also expanding the reach of America’s benefit from it.”
