Goooooo, Rockets!

Happy Wednesday, Toledo!

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.  As the weather continues to stay mild, take this opportunity to get those leaves done! The full leaf pick-up schedule can be found here.

Another successful operation from our Toledo Police Department was announced this week. The Toledo Police Department along with other local, state, and federal agencies began Operation R.A.S.E.R. (Reynolds Airport Safety Enforcement Response) in the areas surrounding Reynolds and Airport. R.A.S.E.R. is the final operation in the Toledo Enhancement Area Method (T.E.A.M.) for 2022. Important data includes 18 guns seized, 13 warrants, $121,377 in drugs seized, 203 arrests, and 626 citations issued.

I would like to thank the Toledo Police Department for these ongoing targeted enforcement areas. It seems to be a very effective strategy in addressing crime, code compliance, and safety in our neighborhoods.

Also this week, the University of Toledo football team is on its way to the MAC Championship Game Saturday. The game will be played at Ford Field in Detroit at 12:00 pm.  Show your support for the Rockets by heading to the game or flying your UToledo colors!

For more information or to order tickets, go to UTRockets.com/MACTix, call or text the Rocket Ticket Office at 419-530-GOLD (4653) or stop by the Rocket Athletic Ticket Office at Savage Arena during office hours. The game will also be on ESPN on Saturday at noon.

Next Wednesday, December 7, join me at 4:30 PM at an in-person Wednesdays With Wade. I will be at the Main Library in the Glass Room on the first floor and will be joined by members of my cabinet to provide an overview of the 2023 City of Toledo budget. Hope to see you there.

Have a great week, Toledo!

City of Toledo Tree Lighting

Join us in Ottawa Park on December 11 from 3:00-7:00 pm for the annual tree Lighting event. Ice skating, food trucks, entertainment, activities for kids, and great family fun! The event is FREE!

Let's Plant Some Trees

Mayor Kapszukiewicz joined representatives from Columbia Gas and Toledo Mud Hens to plant trees in  Toledo.

For every bat a Toledo Mud Hens player broke this season, the City of Toledo, the Toledo Mud Hens, and Columbia Gas of Ohio committed to planting a tree for the “Break a Bat, Plant a Tree” campaign. This season they broke 41 bats at home games.

Planting a tree is a simple way to give back to the community. They provide shade and clean air, offering neighborhoods charm and beauty.

Final Few Days!

Don't forget! There are a few days remaining in November, which is Correct Recycling Month. You can get all of the information you need on the dos and Don'ts of recycling by visiting our website.
