10 Years of artsyletters®!

THANK YOU for 10 years of artsyletters®! My little business started out as a fledgling in late 2012 with a few Etsy listings and some local art shows.  In the Spring of 2013, my trademark was officially registered.  So, I'm taking a cue from Disney World in my hometown of Orlando, stretching their 50th birthday across a couple of years.
I'm celebrating in 2022-23!

~Grateful~
I'm very grateful to my wonderful customers for cheering along and supporting my literary art endeavors year after year. The first sale I made at an art show back in Georgia was to a local professor.  She bought eight bookmarks - one for each of her graduating English majors.  I was thrilled - I'd found my tribe and vice versa.  Since then I've been honored to be a part of gift-giving in lots of lives.  This year, my book club gift packs went to some special folks, including members in one group celebrating 100 years of that book club! For another club, a daughter who had recently lost her mother asked if I could add a special message on the back of each bookmark from her mom, thanking the friends and family members in the group for being part of her story.  I'm always touched to have a small part in such big moments.
I've sold items to customers in nearly all 50 states (except one of the Dakotas, I think?) and in 20-plus different countries, in addition to local sales to folks from all over!   Here are a few pics from the last decade.

Ten years ago, I was setting up at art shows with lots of help from my family, including daughter Morgan here, who showed me how to post about such events on Facebook!  Her now-hubby Matt logged in several hours helping me set up.  Son Seth has provided music for videos and, when I had an upstairs studio in downtown Beaufort, he was quite effective at street level, convincing ladies of all ages to brave the steep steps and visit my shop!  My hubby Jeff made countless "First Friday" events possible, as an extra hand and refreshments server.  He's also been quite patient this past year after I moved my studio to our small house, which quickly morphed into a messy art space that we happen to eat and sleep in....

And - so many wonderful customers and supporters, especially in Beaufort over the past eight years! Blessed to call many of you friends.

I'm still grateful to be able to sell my wares at two of my favorite places here:  The Beaufort Emporium and NeverMore Books.

Lorrie Anderson, NeverMore Books
The highlight of this year has resulted in several weeks away from my artsy messes, but worth it.  Jeff & I welcomed our first grandbaby into the family over the summer!  Isn't Sawyer just the cutest little pumpkin?  And happy to say he seems to like his "Mimi's" poetry, or at least he wants to devour the little magazine it's in....
More change is in the air for our next decade and beyond.  Jeff is taking a new job next year near Greenville, SC, not far from where our upstate house is. (Last year we were able to find a place closer to our kids for holidays and rendezvouses!) So we'll be packing up and moving to the South Carolina hills permanently in coming months. (I'll still keep Beaufort contacts and will still have items for sale at The Beaufort Emporium & Nevermore Books.)

We're converting the basement/garage into living space, and I'm going to have a real, live studio!  I couldn't be more excited. I'll be glad to have room to make more art as well as my other shop items. Jeff will be glad to have a dining room table we can eat off of.
I'll post some pictures as it comes along on my artsyletters.com website and on Instagram (artsylettersgifts).
~Gifts~
When we move in a few months, I'll likely put my Etsy shop on vacation mode during the transition. But it's open now for gifts/stocking stuffers for any book-loving names on your list!  Please note that it takes me a few days to fill orders.  My imaginary elves work overtime this time of year....
Need an easy, inexpensive gift for a bookish friend? As part of my 10-year-yippeee, I'm offering a little $10 gift bag featuring a pack of my oil lamp & books note cards and a mini bookmark with an alloy book charm dangle.  (5"X8" kraft bag & 4" handle.)  Tax & shipping extra.  Orders of $35 or more ship free!
Since we'll be moving from one end of South Carolina to the other (coast to mountains!), I wanted to nod to the Palm and Moon state symbol this year with my Christmas card.  (These are available in my Etsy shop for any interested fellow South Carolinians.)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you & yours!
Finally, if you were able to read this newsletter, thank a vowel.
