7. BP Sports Update

  • World Cup: I'm watching England v. Iran as I build this newsletter. 0-0 in the 20th after Iran's goalkeeper had to come out of the game following an apparent concussion. Ecuador opened the tournament yesterday in Qatar with a 2-0 win over the host nation.
  • NFL: A somewhat boring day was capped by a thrilling win by Kansas City over the Los Angeles Chargers.
  • NCAAF: Huge upset this weekend and sad news for Tennessee as South Carolina ended their hopes for a playoff bid with a 63-38 win in which UT's star QB Hendon Hooker left the game with an ACL injury. He's out for the season.
