When I wrap a present, people know it. None of the edges are straight, nothing is even. Maybe a bow on top, rarely any ribbon at all. As I understand, this is a “man’s way” to wrap presents. After all, it is the present that matters most, right? OK, even I don’t believe that.
On the other hand, when God gives us a gift like Christmas, the wrapping actually means something. The ribbon, for instance, may seem superfluous to a guy like me, but it is not really extra if the ribbon represents grace and beauty.

Christian Care shelters in Rock Island are in need of some items. If you can help, please drop your items off at the shelter (2209 3rd Ave.):
- Men's sweatshirts, sweatpants, sweaters, long-sleeved shirts
- Women's clothing
- Men's & women's winter coats, hats, gloves
- Cleaning supplies
- Shower shoes/flip-flops (sizes 9, 10, 11, 12, 13)
- Laundry detergent
- Hygiene products: shampoo, conditioner, razors, body wash, deodorant, foot powder, shaving cream
- Trash bags - 39-gallon & 13-gallon
- #10 size cans of vegetables (large cans)
