Tea Time with MSSF

Dear High School Teachers,

Have you seen our brand-new MSSF video? Thanks to Jenn Hatch and her students at Medomak Valley High School for providing some great footage and insights for us. Show this to your classes to get them jazzed about taking part in the Fair!

December is a great time for your students to start their science fair projects. With some solid background research and a plan for implementing their projects, they can start 2023 on strong footing.

Knowing that you and your students have unique needs this month, we’ve decided to host three evening drop-in sessions this month to answer whatever questions you have about MSSF. To make the most out of this time you have with us, consider looking at our list of recorded sessions and watching one or two that you think might benefit you. Then you can come with questions for our team! Dates and times are below.

Scholarship Corner

University of Maine at Augusta is once again offering two $1,500 scholarships. These awards are renewable for up to four years for a total of $6,000 in financial aid.

Category Spotlight: Data Science!

Sometimes, students discover that it’s difficult or impossible to collect data for the topic they’d like to study. The good news is that there are loads of data available about almost any subject they can imagine. Data science involves getting the data, putting it into a useful format, exploring the data, use algorithms to make sense of it, and then interpreting/communicating the results of the study.
