Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone will have a chance to enjoy some time to hit the reset swtich, eat delicious foods, and celebrate those things that bring us comfort. While this has been a very successful and exciting theatre school year so far, this has also been a very challenging time for us as a school, as a town, and for that matter for our country, and beyond. What continues to ring true to me is that the students are amazing. I am provided with a great deal of reassurance to know that THEY will be our future. Against all the many lockdowns, senseless, meaningless, and often hate driven acts of violence, I continue to remind the students how important it is for us to listen to one another, raise one another up, as well as to find the importance of being part of a community.
Short VHSL Recap—-(SOOOO MUCH TO SAY)
It has been a while I since District one acts happened (Nov 3) But we WON first place at the Jefferson district One-Act festival. Stella’s show was EXTRAORDINARY
Highlights were just included in the CCS newsletter, but to name a few:
Gian Serrano Actor Award at District Festival,
Olivia Colvin acting award at Regionals—- and NUMEROUS compliment from neighboring schools at both district and regional levels.
Lastly… Congratulations to STELLA GUNN! Award winning playwright and director!
From the winning director at Regionals:
“If your kids want to show up and bring friends we would love it! Your program is so good, and we are delighted to be able to get to see your shows… Our students were raving about your play, and we can't wait to see what you do next year.”
Have a great evening!
