NOVEMBER 2022

ISSUE: #11

Kia Orana ki to tatou au kōpu tangata o te eFAMILIES.

What another incredible month we’ve had!

This month we witnessed the making of history in the world of sports, especially in the world of rugby. From watching the Black Ferns with their nail-biting 34-31 win against England at Eden Park. To decking ourselves in the colours of Toa Samoa, as their Rugby League team became the first Pacific Nation to make it to the finals of the Rugby League World Cup, it’s fair to say that it’s been a month of celebration for all.

To continue this celebration, we also wanted to spotlight one of our eFAMILIES; A Taste of Manila NZ and their progress through our Enterprising Families programme. We also included a few upcoming business workshops and events that you may want to attend in the coming weeks.

Basic Business Setup: eFAMILY wins!

Our Basic Business Setup (BBS) service is a new part of Enterprising Families programme that we have developed over the past few months.  These sessions aim to assist our eFAMILIES with choosing a business structure, setting up a RealMe login, registering for a New Zealand Business Number (NZBN) or company, checking compliance issues and basic financial management processes. Over the past month, we have had a few of our eFAMILIES engage in these sessions and wanted to take the time acknowledge their hard mahi. This edition we wanted to spotlight A Taste of Manila NZ by Rachel and Luz.

A Taste of Manila NZ by Rachel and Luz

Our favourite Filipino duo and the leading ladies behind A Taste of Manila NZ, Rachel and Luz began in our Enterprising Families programme in June this year.  A Taste of Manila NZ specialises in Filipino and Asian dishes that are curated to take you to the place. These ladies are passionate about food and want to share their love of their culture with everyone they meet.

Since June, Rachel and Luz have set goals for their business (Piri’anga phase), created a Lean Model Canvas business plan (Mākirikiri phase) and have now started the Mātūtū phase with their Basic Business Set up sessions.   With Enterprising Families support, Rachel and Luz have:

  • Chosen a business structure.

  • Set up and learned how to utilise their RealMe Login for their business.

  • Registered for a NZBN.

  • Developed a logo and branding.

  • Created business social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram and started to plan their social media strategy.

We are so proud of their consistent determination to grow and elevate their business! You ladies are awesome, keep up the great work.
