Regrettably, EPA denied our Petition, in flagrant violation of the law. Read CPR Initiative's response, Petitioner's response and our November 7 Freedom of Information Act filing.
The Agency's denial left us with few options. So now, we have taken them to court.
Last Saturday, our general counsel Dan Galpern filed a lawsuit against EPA in the federal district court of Eugene, Oregon, on behalf of Petitioners James Hansen, Donn Viviani, John Birks, Richard Heede, Lise Van Susteren, Climate Science, Awareness and Solutions (CSAC), and Climate Protection and Restoration (CPR Initiative).
Our central demand? That the court compel EPA to commence rule-making under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) to phase out deadly GHG pollution.
This is an enormous undertaking. We really need your engagement and support. Please read our complaint in full and consider investing in this critical effort to safeguard our children's future.
