Portisheasd Big Green Day
On the 30th September we were invited to take part In the Library’s event for the Portishead Big Green Day so Penny and Coral set up a table with lots of information about TTTP together with our large glass jar of small plastic litter collected from our local beaches and litter picking equipment.

We were able to chat with other groups taking part as well as some members of the public while we were setting up and we managed to give away some nets for recycling boxes. This was an unmanned event so the Library staff kindly packed everything up for us at the end ready for Andy to collect.
Volunteers Fair
In October we were also involved in the Volunteer’s Fair in the Folk Hall, which the Council organised. This took place from midday until 5pm with, once again, lot of information about our group set out on a table with props including the beach plastic jar, hi vis jacket, litter picker and TTTP tee shirt.

This event was managed by Coral with Alison and Lin dropping in to give their greatly welcomed support. A large number of groups took part which enabled a lot of networking so this, together with members of the public dropping in, meant we were able to raise our profile and once again a large number of bin nets were handed out to grateful recipients.
Tangent Group
During October we also spent an evening with the local Tangent Group, the women’s section of the Round Table group. This was an event cancelled twice due to Covid restrictions. We were warmly received and following dinner Sue Tabb set up our projector and proceeded to give a very successful updated version of our Adult Education power point presentation. Judith Burrill, Chair of Tangent gave us a donation of £25 and she also offered as the person in charge of the Portishead in Bloom flags/banners, which hang in the High Street during the summer, to produce one for us. We are currently working on this with Mike French working on a design to include our logo.
Christmas Party
The TTTP Christmas party is on 9th December at 19:30 at The Old Mill - Everyone's welcome but we please confirm your attendance on the volunteers Facebook page where you can also see the menu choices.
