As this year will soon draw to a close, we wanted to thank our members for their support and patience as we continue to adapt to our new surroundings. We were really hoping to have construction underway upstairs in our 'dedicated' space in 2022 but sadly we faced a delay. That said, construction is scheduled to begin in January 2023 and we are so excited to eventually have a space to call our own. 

Thank you to our fabulous volunteers who dedicate their time throughout the year. Volunteers have accumulated many hours to run some of our programs and also our Greeters who welcome and check in our members. We couldn't do this without you and for this, we are eternally grateful.
 
We are really looking forward to our Christmas party. We have sold over 100 tickets. The party which will be taking place in our (yet to be finished) dedicated space. We have invited Joan and Mike from 'Now and Then' to entertain us. They have been extremely popular over the years singing all the classics that we know and love. 

On behalf of myself and all the staff, we wish you a joyous holiday season filled with love, happiness and prosperity.

One week pool closure - Dec 12 - 17
Please be advised that the lighting in the pool area is being replaced. No aqua classes/lessons etc. will be running this week.

Inclement Weather/Closure of building
A decision will be made by 7:00 a.m. on any given day that we encounter snow if the building will be closed. Please visit the City website for communications with regard to this message.

Outdoor/Indoor footwear
As we advance to the winter months, members are reminded to please change your shoes from outdoor to indoor while you are in the building. Boot trays will be provided outside each programming room (remember, don't take a better pair when you leave ha ha). 

Price Increase to some classes and programs - January 1, 2023
We appreciate each and every one of our members. We offer over 50 programs per week catering to the 60+ at our new, bright location. We wouldn't be the vibrant facility we are without you and we thank you for your continued support.
With that said, we have recently reviewed our drop- in prices and starting January 1, 2023 there is to be an increase to some of our programs. The fitness classes for example have not been increased since as far back as 2009 (or perhaps earlier). This minimal increase will allow us to continue to provide high-value services to our valued members. All of our instructors are experienced and knowledgeable at what they do and we are extremely grateful for having them on our team. Further, we are committed to continually improve your experience by introducing new and exciting programs, and the purchasing of new equipment for our classes.

In 2023 there will be no increase to membership fees.

Sit & Cycle
Sit and Cycle machine
We’re excited to offer a fun new exercise class called 'Sit and Cycle'. Enjoy the low impact cardio benefits of our new seated elliptical bikes (much like a Cubi). The smooth rotational motion helps increase strength and mobility without putting any stress on the joints and targets your glutes, hip flexors, hamstrings and calves. Core training and resistance equipment for upper body will also be added to make this a gentle full body workout. Stride Towards A Healthier You.

This class is pre-registered with limited spots available.

** This Sit & Cycle is in replacement of the Wednesday Sit and Be Fit class at 1:00

Pickleball Lessons &
Skills and Drills Workshop

Beginner Pickleball lessons will continue on a Tuesday starting on January 10 from 1:00 p.m - 2:00 p.m. Join our resident Pickle instructor Murray, who will take you through the basics of Pickleball.
Don't forget if you are at the beginner level, you can join us on Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. for beginners to practice or play.

'Drills and Skills' from 2:00p.m -3:00p.m. Drills and Skills is a four week workshop starting on January 10 of skill development for anyone who wants to improve their pickleball abilities. All drills will be tailored to everyone's present abilities. Each session will run from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00pm.

Deep Aqua 
A low-impact, high intensity class to get you moving in the water. Participants wear floatation belts and are in the deep water for the entire class. (belts are provided).

Gentle Aqua
Gentle Aqua is taught in the lane pool and is a low intensity workout. The cardiovascular and muscle toning portions will be less than a traditional Aqua fit class and we will incorporate more stretching, water walking, wall work and floating. Perfect for those with hip, knee or back problems.

Regular Aqua

Aqua Aerobics classes are a great way to mix up a traditional gym workout with the wondrous benefits of water. It only takes a few aqua aerobics sessions and you’ll see a big difference in your overall fitness.

Also known as water aerobics or sometimes waterobics, typical classes will involve all the exercises you would expect in a ‘dry’ class. But there are added bonuses when you exercise in water.

Drop In Aqua Zumba Classes

Aqua Zumba brings new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. It combines the South American Zumba rhythm and dance steps with a pool party.

This class offers a fun but challenging, water-based, body-toning workout. So, liven up your week with some Latin fever. Expect to do exaggerated dance moves.

Join Cheryl from the comfort of your home as she will broadcast live from her class at MacBain. The $2.75 class fee will apply. The link will be the same every week for each different class. A friendly reminder to please pay off your balance on your account through Activenet, or in person at the customer service desk at MacBain.

How do I pay?

Once you have registered on Zoom, your membership account will be charged. You may pay the outstanding balance in person or you may pay online with your Active Net account. (It may take a few days for Active Net to show your outstanding balance.)

**** If you have been attending the virtual classes please make sure you have paid off your balance either through ActiveNet, or have been to MacBain and paid in person before you attend the next session.
