“Committed to ending human trafficking and sexual exploitation by raising awareness through the media and grassroots mobilization, education, advocacy and policy.”
The word thanksgiving means the act of expressing or feeling thankfulness. Giving thanks for what we are grateful for and what we have. Acknowledging those around us. Thanksgiving Day is celebrated one day a year with family and friends acknowledging the bountiful harvest season and other blessings of the past twelve months gone by.
Dear Warrior:
The Warriors are thankful for so many things this year. First of all, you. Colleagues, new friends and the public, those I don’t even know, who open up and read our newsletter each week. Your support, donations, loyalty and love empower me to continue working to educate communities about human trafficking and help victims reclaim their lives. You are making a difference. It is imperative that you have information you may not come across in your very busy daily lives. This is what the predators are counting on. That you are not paying attention. That you are not talking to your children. That you are not taking action. That you are doing nothing. This way they can easily slip in and take advantage of our most vulnerable, whether online or in real time.
I am now calling human trafficking human slavery. We have more slavery today in the United States than any other time in history. The sexual exploitation of our vulnerable youth is all around us. It is happening in every town, city and rural area in America. There are no exceptions. The Warriors say – If we help one person each day understand, if we educate, provide resources, share take actions, make you aware of existing law and new policy and legislation along with better ways to communicate with each other and our children, then we have done our job. You read our newsletters because you want to know what is going on, you want to learn more about digital and real time safety and how to prevent these crimes and human rights abuses. You are taking action. Knowledge, intervention and prevention are the ways to prevent more victims of these heinous crimes. Working more on ending demand is our rallying cry.
Thanksgiving Dayis the beginning of the holiday season. More than ever this year we need kindness and gratitude. Our children are watching. We must teach them gratitude. So much has been going on in our country. This week instead of the usual newsletter, I want you to spend this time recognizing and being grateful for someone or something. Take the time to do something for those less fortunate. There is so much need. The smallest act of kindness goes a long way. We cannot do this alone. We need everyone to do something. We must. It’s 2022. It’s time for all of us to #BeAWarrior
