We hope you heard Pastor Clark's message last week, "Joy and Crown: Thankful for You!" If you missed it we encourage you to watch or listen at www.valleybrook.cc/view-on-demand.
Pastor Clark spoke about the benefit and importance of practicing the spiritual discipline of gratitude. We heard the story of what one man, Chris Winfield, experienced by writing a daily gratitude list. He learned it's hard at first, there is always something to be grateful for, gratitude grows the more you use it, and it can help stop negative thought patterns. To help us practice what we learned on Sunday, Pastor Clark challenged us to reflect on what we are grateful for.
We'll start! We're grateful for each and every one of our volunteers!
We are able to do what God has called us to do at Valley Brook because of your willingness to share your time and talents. Whether you volunteer on Sundays, mid-week, at an outreach or one-time event, behind the scenes, in an administrative or other roles, we APPRECIATE you!
Happy Thanksgiving
Wishing you a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving! The church office will be closed on Thursday and Friday. We look forward to seeing you in person or online for worship on Sunday!
Joy and Crown | Sunday @ 10:00 AM
In the book of Philippians Paul calls the Christians in Philippi his “joy and crown” (Phil. 4:1) as he expresses his gratitude for them. Paul is thankful for their partnership in fulfilling the mission of the church – sharing the good news of Jesus Christ! At the same time, he urges them to "stand firm" and stay true to Christ! In this 2-week series, we will look at the many reasons we have to be grateful while focusing on what we must do to follow Christ in this life.
Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends! - Philippians 4:1
Volunteer & Help Bring the Live Nativity to Life!
December 3 | 5:00-8:00 PM
There are many ways you can get involved and help us bring the Live Nativity to life. It's our gift to the community and it's only one week away!
On average we have over 1,000 guests that follow the luminary path to the manger scene and encounter real actors and animals along the way. We pray that everyone will ponder the birth of Christ and the true meaning of Christmas. This is our gift to the community and we can't do it without you!
Many ways to serve - most in shifts! Saturday Set up, Caroler, Actor (non-speaking roles), Greeter, Parking, Costumes, Take Down on Sunday morning
