Overseeding is Prohibited in Frisco
Save money and water by letting your lawn go dormant this fall and winter. Overseeding your lawn with cool season grasses, such as rye and fescue, is prohibited in the City of Frisco. The exception is for erosion control and public spaces where safety is a concern. (Ordinance 19-04-34 Section 8).

Wipes - they seem to have a million uses. We use them to clean our homes, sanitize our grocery carts, wipe down our children, and more. While these products may be useful, they also pose a serious threat to our city’s wastewater infrastructure.
The issue comes from misleading advertising. Many companies add “flushable” to their product packaging, an incentive for those who do not want to throw their used wipes in the trash. While wipes can technically be flushed down the toilet, they do not disintegrate like toilet paper. In order to manufacture wipes that can stand up to tough messes, many companies include plastic fibers which cannot break down in the sewer system. Instead, these fibers stretch and wrap around other debris in our sewers, resulting in large blockages known as “rag balls”. These rag balls must be manually removed from the sewer system, utilizing taxpayer resources, and posing possible environmental threats.
Please help us prevent this avoidable and costly issue by only flushing human waste and toilet paper down the toilet. Everything else, including “flushable” wipes, should be disposed of properly in the trash can.

Should I be watering my home's foundation during the winter?
Answer:
The following are some foundation watering recommendations for all seasons, you can always schedule a sprinkler check-up by calling 972-292-5800. Thank you.
Regular Spring/Fall/Summer: Water for about 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the evening for about 2 to 4 days of the week, depending on temperatures and rainfall.
Extremely Hot and Dry Weather: During the summer, water the foundation 4 days a week, Spring and Fall, usually 2 days a week. The goal is to keep consistent moisture around the property, so the amount of watering will be affected by the seasons.
Winter: Only water the foundation about once or twice a month, because the water is not evaporating very fast and the temperatures are cold or mild.

The average daily water usage per person in Frisco is known as the GPCD. Calculations are obtained by dividing the total number of gallons used in Frisco by our city's population.
