Thanksgiving - Reflecting!
In the morning, on a balcony overlooking the city, we take time to reflect...
You have helped us walk with friends. We have listened, ached, stayed on our knees, opened our hearts, wrapped our arms around ... All these to encourage, to join in prayer, to see the Lord work with our friends. They are in transit, they are seeking to open new doors, new countries. They are pouring themselves into language learning. They are taking time to hear the Holy Spirit tell them to go differently. And, He DOES!
You have prayed with us - for friends in Europe, Canada, Middle East, Africa, Asia, and more. You have listened, you have given, you have fasted and prayed. All these, and we have received such a blessing, walking alongside. Imagine the joy, hearing that "J" wants to get back involved with the church. This is far away, another country, another culture, and GOD is working on him! Our friend gets to walk alongside, and we provide some pastoral care, listening, connecting from afar, praying, AND seeing results!
What a joy, a friend has joined AN's Pastoral Care Team. Local in Iowa, this friend took time to learn, to go to school, to invest, and now realizing their part in the advance of the Gospel. I am thrilled. I think they are thrilled. And the nations will be glad! Rev 7:9 shows worship in heaven from people of every tribe, tongue, nation and kindred.
Brett's campaign wrapped up. Garnered 40% of the vote in District 1 of Linn County. Jesus had said to "GO" so he did. And working faithfully, he pursued. Jesus alone knows the long term results. Election was lost to the incumbent. Many were prayed for along the way. Some were healed. Others encouraged. A friendship was even begun with his opponent - maybe fruit will come. Brett's lesson - Listen to the Holy Spirit, and Obey what He says. Brett did!
What's ahead? Brett seeking some work. Also the start-up firm to complete the spin-up work and take products to market - this could be close. Listening to Jesus and doing what He says - John 10:27 - we bank on that. AND every two weeks, another great call with our colleagues around the world. Praying for breakthrough in Isan. For connections in Nippon. For opportunity in Arua. For release in MZ. For new connections in HK. For funding and transport to IN. Each of these is a connection with people for whom we provide pastoral care. These are the ones who run upon the gates of Hell, and those gates will NOT prevail. These are our partners, and we get to walk alongside.
We are thankful to provide Pastoral Care. We are grateful for the 30-60 minute calls, to listen, to hear, to encourage, to pray, to seek together. We are grateful. We can only do this work because of you!
Your support provides the funds that frees us up to work alongside. Together with you, we come alongside frontline workers, and see Jesus' name proclaimed where it has never been declared before. Tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day 2022, we join with some of our Mason Clan in Indianola, IA. Joyful with 3 generations, we can't wait. Here's hoping your celebration is filled with delight too!
