<<First Name>>,
The Progressive Conservative government is poised to pass Bill 23, “More Homes, Built Faster”. While there are some gems in it, such as reducing development charges, we’re disappointed to say the least.
Most importantly: there is barely any action on ending exclusionary zoning.
Thankfully, Green Party leader Mike Schreiner just introduced two bills to end exclusionary zoning in Ontario:
Bill 44, which would permit multiplexes of 4 units and 4 storeys everywhere in Ontario; and
Bill 45, which would permit building 6 to 11 storeys on major roads.
These would be important first steps to building out gentle density in neighbourhoods and ending the housing crisis in Ontario.
