<<First Name>>,

The Progressive Conservative government is poised to pass Bill 23, “More Homes, Built Faster”. While there are some gems in it, such as reducing development charges, we’re disappointed to say the least.

Most importantly: there is barely any action on ending exclusionary zoning.

Thankfully, Green Party leader Mike Schreiner just introduced two bills to end exclusionary zoning in Ontario:

  • Bill 44, which would permit multiplexes of 4 units and 4 storeys everywhere in Ontario; and

  • Bill 45, which would permit building 6 to 11 storeys on major roads.

These would be important first steps to building out gentle density in neighbourhoods and ending the housing crisis in Ontario.

We need your help to move these bills forward. As private member bills, they need all the support they can get to have the best chance of being prioritized.

Send an email to Housing Minister Steve Clark and Associate Housing Minister Michael Parsa: individual voices and emails are crucial. To make it easy, we’ve developed template: just click the button below, fill out your detailsand customize to your heart’s desire!

These bills are word-for-word recommendations 3a and 9 from the government’s own Housing Affordability Task Force report, which they claim is their long-term roadmap. We need to ensure they act on that roadmap now.
